“Gram” or “Gramps” are the affectionate terms calling us to an image of wise, loving, safe, grandparents who could be called upon at anytime to assist with a problem. “Handy” means a skillful, useful, close at hand. The image is safety provided by grandma and grandpa along with their wisdom gained through hard earned experience.
